How Professional Interior Design Perfectly Balances Contemporary and Classic in an Elite Penthouse

Designing the interiors of an elite penthouse to reflect the client’s vision is no mean feat. It involves the perfect synthesis of the designer’s expertise and the client’s wishes. When the client desires a living space that showcases classic opulence, the interior designer’s challenge lies in creating a design that is both contemporary and luxurious. In the featured project by Rhythm and Emphasis Design Studio, the brief for the interior design of the elite penthouse was quite daunting. The client wanted a grand, luxurious home with modern comforts and timeless appeal. The challenge for the interior design team was to find the perfect way to balance classic opulence with modern designs and fixtures. They did so with a combination of materials and techniques, creating an impressive aesthetic that ticked all boxes.

The designers started by choosing key elements to serve as the foundation of the aesthetics. After determining the floor dimensions, they narrowed down on materials and elements such as Italian tiles, handcrafted furniture, unique imported floorings, and wooden deck floors to reflect luxury.

For the walls, including the bed backrest, they chose natural stone to create a warm and inviting ambience, combining it with chrome and gold accents to add to the grandeur of the penthouse.

The ceilings were raised to 11 feet to add a sense of expansiveness to the interiors and improve the structure’s functionality to allow for the installation of a centralised air conditioning system.

An open sit-out was planned in the northwest of the penthouse to ensure ample natural light in the mornings and good ventilation.

Since an opulent house should have amenities to reflect luxury living, the designers fitted the penthouse with several elements, such as an open theatre with a bar and a spacious garden area.

These were in addition to the infinity pool, luxury sauna, spa, and indoor and outdoor gym requested by the client. To complete the luxury experience, the designers also installed a magnificent island kitchen and a home theater.
